I need help in understanding how we can use patterns in FAQs and does bot synonyms auto apply to words in pattern

The document https://developer.kore.ai/docs/bots/nlp/additional-notes-nlp-settings-guidelines/ should give you an understanding of patterns.

Patterns are used for exact word match, and synonymous words do not apply to the pattern word.

I.e, if Boat is used as pattern… its synonymous word Canoe will not map to the intent with pattern Boat.

Using of patterns or pattern like words in FAQ depend on the exact usecase you want to achieve. Please give an example usecase for our understanding.
