The platform supports REGEX patterns in entity collection when using the “custom” type. You’ll have to explain your use case for me to understand what you mean by “ML training”.

Given it is not recommended using special characters for ML training , it would be impractical to use regular expressions.

There is a ML capability for entering patterns, but its usage is very different from a REGEX pattern.
The format and special characters are specific to the Kore platform.
