PII Data use original in a script

Hi!
I have this problem, I’m using a entity node with sensitive data.
But when I’m calling a service I need to send the first 8 characters of the data.

I tried with a simple script to do the thing, but there’s no option for work with the original data like in the services.
What can I do for this situation?
