PBX SIP registration

Hi community,

I have a doubt: in which way the SIP register goes?
From the smartAssist to our PBX or from our PBX to the SmartAssist?
in other words: our PBX needs to register to SmartAssist or perhaps SmartAssist needs to register to our PBX?

We have been making some test and we haven’t be able to connect our PBX and the SmartAssist.

Thanks in advance,
Jaume

Hi Jaume,

The SIP register will go from your PBX to SmartAssist. Your PBX needs to register to SmartAssist.
We can help you connecting your PBX to SmartAssist, needs to check the SmartAssist configuration.

Btw, register with your source IP, User name, password. If you need any help we can connect.

Thanks,

Hi Pratik,

Thanks for the clarification…

We have tried to register our PBX 3CX with SmartAssist and we have gotten an 500 Internal Server Error in response message.

Hi Jaumef,

Could you try to disable the login and try to send Invite directly instead of register ?

Thanks,
Pratik

Hi Pratik,

Yes, disabling the login and sending the INVITE directly seems to work, but the call doesn’t continues.

Let me explain the test and the scenario:
1 make a call to 88888 from my 3CX extension (x302)
2 the call process ok from the sip trunk for kore.ai
3 when the Smart Assist answer the call, our PBX doesn’t send that OK to the extension
4 and the audio doesn’t connect

Watch at this SIP trace:

I think that something from the OK from Kore.ai doesn’t like to our 3CX PBX.

Thanks & regards,
Jaume

The problem was solved.
Our PBX has a firewall and the IP of smartassist was blocked.
Once the IP has been unblocked the call was fine.
